What is ECOCERT?
Moroccan Legacy UK is very proud to announce that all our Nectarome products are ECOCERT. We go through rigorous tests before we deliver to you so let us share what ECOCERT certification is. It is an international independent inspection certification body for sustainable development with its head office in France, It has been inspecting natural ingredients or ecological quality cosmetic products since 2002. Today ECOCERT is one of the top independent bodies in the field of standardization regarding natural cosmetics. It has extremely thorough and careful testing and evaluation system that has gained the company a number one status when it comes to independent Certification of Natural products. There are some requirements that all the production industries have to meet before they are given a certification of ECOCERT and some of them are as follows.
1: All Raw materials must be from renewable, eco-friendly sources and then carefully processed.
2: All the products must be free from GMOs(genetically modified organisms), parabens, phenoxyethanol, nanoparticles, silicone, PEG, synthetic perfumes or dyes, and animal products (except when naturally produced by the animal e.g. honey, milk, etc.).
At least 95% of the total ingredients must stem from natural origin
The packaging must be biodegradable or recyclable.
In addition, a distinction is made between ECOCERT Organic Cosmetic:
At least 95% of all plant-based ingredients and at least 10% of total ingredients are from organic farming.
And ECOCERT Natural Cosmetic:
At least 50% of all plants and at least 5% of the total ingredients are from organic agriculture.
